Privacy Policy
Patata makes small, free multiplayer browser games: the games on patata.party and its subdomains (for example brawl.patata.party and parade.patata.party). This page explains what we collect when you play, why, and what you can do about it. In short: you can play without an account, we keep as little as we can, and we never sell your data.
1. Playing as a guest
You don't need an account to play. When you play as a guest:
- Your player name is shown to other players in the game you join. You can type any name (or keep the random one we suggest). Please don't use your real name or anything personal.
- Your browser remembers a few things in its local storage, on your device only: your player name, game settings (for example sound and camera angle), a random visitor ID, and — if you sign in — your session token. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Gameplay statistics. Some games record anonymous play statistics to help us balance and improve them: the random visitor ID, which game server you joined, how long you played, and in-game results such as kills, deaths and score. Our anti-cheat may also record a player name with an unusual pattern (for example an impossible hit rate). These records are not linked to an account, an e-mail address or an IP address.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our web servers log technical request data (IP address, browser type, time and the page requested). We use these logs only to keep the service running and secure, and they are deleted automatically after 14 days.
2. Signing in with Google (optional)
On our own websites you can sign in with Google to keep your coins and your name between visits. When you do:
- Google sends us a signed confirmation of your sign-in. From it we keep only your Google account ID (a number that lets us recognise you next time). We do not store your e-mail address, your profile picture or your real name.
- We store your account profile: a display name (you can change it any time; when you first sign in we use the name you typed in the game, or your first name from Google if you hadn't typed one), and per game your coins, best result, number of games and kills.
- Coins are only earned by playing and have no monetary value.
- Your session is kept with a token stored in your browser for up to 60 days; "Sign out" removes it.
Google's handling of your data during sign-in is covered by Google's Privacy Policy.
3. Playing on other platforms
Some Patata games are also published on game platforms such as CrazyGames. There, you don't have a Patata account: the platform handles accounts and advertising under its own privacy policy. We receive only what the game needs to work, such as your platform username (so your friends recognise you in the game), and we don't store it.
4. Why we use this data
- To run the games: putting you in a game server, showing names and scores, keeping your coins (performance of the service you ask for).
- To keep them fair and working: preventing cheating and abuse, fixing problems, balancing games (our legitimate interest in a working service).
We don't sell or rent personal data, don't build advertising profiles, and don't show ads on our own websites.
5. Who else handles data
| Service | What for |
|---|---|
| Hetzner (Germany / Finland) | Hosting our game servers and data |
| Cloudflare | Delivering our websites quickly and protecting them from attacks |
| Sign-in with Google (only if you use it); the font used on our pages (Google Fonts) |
These providers process data on our behalf or as independent services under their own policies.
6. How long we keep it
- Server logs: 14 days.
- Account profile, coins and stats: as long as your account exists. Ask us and we delete it.
- Anonymous gameplay statistics: as long as they are useful for improving the games.
- Data in your browser: until you clear it or sign out.
7. Your choices and rights
- Play without an account, or sign out at any time.
- Change your display name in the game menu.
- Ask us to access, correct or delete your account data. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU/UK under the GDPR, or in California) you have these rights by law, and you may also complain to your data protection authority.
8. Children
Our games are for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. Signing in requires a Google account, which has its own age rules. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Changes
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
10. Contact
